do not

do not                                            April 24, 2015
if you are hungry
do not look to one who has always been full
if you are parched
do not ask water from one who has never thirsted
if you are naked
do not beg rags from the dressed
if you are cold
do not seek shelter from the housed
if you are injured
do not go to the unbroken
if you are ill
do not ask the healthy for medicine
if you are woman
do not look to man for justice
if you are poor
do not beg food from the rich
if you are of color
do not ask a prayer from white
if you are isolated
do not ask a clique for company
if you are shamed
do not show your face to the self-righteous
if you are broken hearted
do not seek comfort from the loved
if you are small
do not look up for help from the big
if you are widowed, divorced, abandoned
do not think of fairness from the celibate
if you are disposable
do not ask the consumer to help you
if you are least, last, lost
do not ask empathy from the greatest, first, found
if you ache
do not seek relief from the content
if you wander
do not ask direction from the bound
if you stumble
do not look to the standing for a hand
if you fail
do not beg from the successful
if you are drowning
do not expect rope from the dry
if you are stepped on
do not think the foot should move
if you struggle
do not ask rest from the sleeping
if you are poisoned
do not ask the pious for cleansing
if you are cursed
to not go to church for a blessing
if you are spat on
do not ask the lips for a kiss
if you are weary
do not ask the vigorous for an arm
if you are foolish
do not ask the wise for learning
if you are crying
do not let the happy wipe your tears
if you grieve
do not ask sympathy from the lossless
if you are raped
do not seek help from a cock
if you are imprisoned
do not look to a jailer for keys
if you are condemned
do not request mercy from a judge
if you are tied up
do not ask the sadist to cut the ropes

About m

My ego wants to think I'm a writer but my heart knows I'm just another one of God's Kids who sometimes has words to say. 2 human kids and 3 feline kids call me Mom. Or Mooooooom. Or mewom, depending which you ask. I'm kinda-sorta busy being a student again; this time I signed myself up for a bizarre torture known as Graduate School. Theoretically in 4ish years I'll have earned some more nice letters to put with my name. Let's face it, I'm addicted to learning and probably need rehab to restore me to sanity and remove the obsession to read books. I don't remember what free time is but I think I like to spend it sleeping or playing in the mud on a river bank.
