the temple of wind

the temple of wind                                    July 26, 2015
the price of seeing
you was my life
and the cost of kissing
my death

now
nothing
now
everything

i am the desert sand
–    and
the spilled wine

the wind
i have blown
a thousand miles
two thousand

he said
follow me
so i traced his steps
a hunting cat
quivering in ecstacy
before pouncing

paws do not scoop sand
but dig pits
to hide the uneaten bits
for later

paws do not scoop water
the tongue laps
from the pool

he said follow me

do you understand?
it is not the water
that consecrates you
it is the air
the wind is his breath
breathe
become the temple
of wind

About m

My ego wants to think I'm a writer but my heart knows I'm just another one of God's Kids who sometimes has words to say. 2 human kids and 3 feline kids call me Mom. Or Mooooooom. Or mewom, depending which you ask. My most recent completed endeavor was finishing BA's in Religious Studies and American Studies. I don't remember what free time is but I think I like to spend it sleeping or playing in the mud on a river bank.
