empty hands

empty hands                                        March 23, 2015
i am watching you plummet to hell
you keep trying to buy a ticket in my name
i have no power to stop your fall
my heart breaks as you become small
do you know you hit bottom
the day you quit digging your grave?
i wish that i could take the spade from you hands
you knuckles are white with self-will
let go! let go!–
you speak of god and faith and love
hush, hush–
live god and faith and love
put down satan’s shovel
god’s tools need empty hands

About m

My ego wants to think I'm a writer but my heart knows I'm just another one of God's Kids who sometimes has words to say. 2 human kids and 3 feline kids call me Mom. Or Mooooooom. Or mewom, depending which you ask. My most recent completed endeavor was finishing BA's in Religious Studies and American Studies. I don't remember what free time is but I think I like to spend it sleeping or playing in the mud on a river bank.
