imaginary girlfriend

imaginary girlfriend
naively i was flattered
to be the fantasy girl
in both his waking
and sleeping dreams

foolish girl
imaginary girlfriends
can read minds
and never make mistakes
they are easy to please
because they have no
real needs or feelings

his fantasy girl is an
object i can never compete with
she wears my face
and uses my lips
but she is only
a perfect doll back in her box
or thrown on the floor
when he has gotten off
and is done with her

she doesn’t want him
to be response-able
or to say he’s sorry
he can never hurt her

the imaginary girlfriend
has no side effects
from the pill
and is always in the mood
when she says STOP
she means GO
and she never says NO

his fantasy girl
thinks nothing
of driving 130 miles
just to suck his dick for an hour
and she doesn’t need
affection and foreplay
or love and commitment

she has no life outside him
she cancels appointments
for his convenience
and never thinks
he could reschedule
as easily as she

she never has her own thoughts
and requires neither compassion nor empathy
and she does not write poetry
calling him out of his

About m

My ego wants to think I'm a writer but my heart knows I'm just another one of God's Kids who sometimes has words to say. 2 human kids and 3 feline kids call me Mom. Or Mooooooom. Or mewom, depending which you ask. I'm kinda-sorta busy being a student again; this time I signed myself up for a bizarre torture known as Graduate School. Theoretically in 4ish years I'll have earned some more nice letters to put with my name. Let's face it, I'm addicted to learning and probably need rehab to restore me to sanity and remove the obsession to read books. I don't remember what free time is but I think I like to spend it sleeping or playing in the mud on a river bank.
