memories

memories
a winter fog
hanging over the desert
the sun and moon and stars
behind a blanket of numb
i dislike signs and omens
but i know something
is wrong tonight
know deep in my bones
that when we misuse each other
we will always be sick with
guilt and fear
oh, God will forgive us
and give us another chance
to break each other
or love each other
we will always meet again
though our memories may be new and dim
we will keep right on
with vexation and torment
life after life
blessed with the grace of another chance
until we two learn
to give ourselves together
building one house
on His foundation

About m

My ego wants to think I'm a writer but my heart knows I'm just another one of God's Kids who sometimes has words to say. 2.5 human kids and 3 feline kids call me Mom. Or Mooooooom. Or mewom, depending which you ask. My most recent completed endeavor was finishing BA's in Religious Studies and American Studies. I don't remember what free time is but I think I like to spend it sleeping or playing in the mud on a river bank.
